guest statute 〈美〉乘客法 指各州制定的关于机动车乘客的制定法，其中规定，在免费乘坐机动车的乘客遭受伤害时，机动车经营人只对由于严重的有意的过错、有意的漫不经心的失误或类似情况造成的伤害负责。有的州则规定其对在醉酒状态下驾驶车辆时出于一般的疏忽所造成的伤害也应负责。由于近年来出现要求废除或限定这项法律的倾向，其适用范围已日趋狭窄。
