hide n. (英格兰古法)海得 源于盎格鲁-撒克逊时期的一种土地计量单位,大约与卡鲁开〔carucate〕相当,指一犁所耕之地的面积,在60至100英亩之间,各地依惯例而不同。也可指维持一个家庭或领主庄园住宅〔mansion-house〕区内居民所需的土地。该词还可用以指房屋、住宅。古时用作计税单位,也是征召民兵〔fyrd〕或军役〔militia〕的基础。
