Master in Chancery 〈英〉文秘署事务官；衡平法院事务官亦称「Masters in Ordinary of the High Court of Chancery」，是衡平法院的高级官员，协助御前大臣处理日常事务，包括处理民众申诉，签发初始令状，讯问证人，并承担某些受托的司法事务，听审并向御前大臣汇报某些案件。其首领是掌卷法官〔Master of the Rolls〕。一段时间内，衡平法院事务官这一职位可以出卖，这造成了极坏影响，1852年该职位被取消，但1897年始从他们原来职位上选出的首席事务官被称为最高法院事务官〔Masters of the Supreme Court〕。 (→Master of the Rolls; Masters of the Supreme Court)
