oath of supremacy 〈英〉最高权威宣誓 由1688年的《权利法案》〔Bill of Rights〕规定,与效忠宣誓〔oath of allegiance〕一并使用近200年的法定宣誓,要求国家高级官员、神职人员以及臣民宣誓拒绝任何外国人或罗马教皇在教会和宗教上的权威和管辖权。所有神职人员在授阶仪式中必须发此誓。该宣誓被1868年和1871年的《宣誓法》〔Promissory Oaths Act〕废弃。
