specialist n. (1)专业律师 (2)专业证券商 指以经纪商或交易商的身份，驻守在一特定的柜台，将其营业活动集中在其管理之若干种股票的会员。业务可分为两类：１以经纪商的身份，帮助其他经纪商执行顾客的命令。当普通的经纪商须等待一段时间才能执行顾客的命令时，只好将此命令转给专业证券商，以便其俟机执行，而赚取佣金；２以交易商身份从事专业股票的买卖，依其经验及判断力，对其所擅长专业的股票进行买卖，通常是低价买入，高价卖出。由于是以自有资金从事买卖，故须自己承担风险。
