vestry n. (1)(教堂的)法衣圣器储藏室 (2)〈英〉堂区委员会 指在小礼拜堂召开的,由牧师、堂区俗人委员〔churchwardens〕和教民出席,处理堂区事务的会议。根据1831年《堂区委员会法》〔Vestries Act〕,在某些堂区每年选举一定数量的教民处理该年度的堂区事务,称作选任堂区委员会〔select vestry〕。该委员会以前所具有的世俗功能已转交当地行政机构。
