writ of inquiry 调查令；损害评估令 一种签发给郡长命令其在12人陪审团的协助下对原告的诉讼请求进行调查并对其损害予以评估的普通法令状。该令状适用于原告在被告缺席的中间判决中获胜的情形。损害评估完成后才能作出终局判决。
