Restoration to current use or operation; esp., the act of restoring the validity or legal force of an expired contract or dormant judgment. — Also termed (for a dormant judgment) revival of judgment. 3. Patents. Renewal of a patent prosecution that has been deemed abandoned because the applicant did not respond to an office action within the statutory period. • The applicant can petition for revival on the basis of unavoidable or unintentional delay.
