attachment lien 〈美〉扣押留置权 债权人通过执行对债务人财产的扣押令而取得对被扣押财产的留置权。但扣押能否产生留置权或仅是对被扣押财产的合法占有权〔right to legal custody〕,制定法和判例等〔authorities〕规定不一。

A lien on property seized by prejudgment attachment. • Such a lien is initially inchoate but becomes final and perfected upon entry of a judgment for the attaching creditor and relates back to the date when the lien first arose. — Also termed lien of attachment.
