jeopardy n. 危险 指在审判过程中刑事被告人面临的被定罪和判刑的危险。通常在陪审团审判的情况下，从组成陪审团起，在由法官审判的情况下，从第一个证人宣誓时起，被告人即开始面临这种危险。有时也称作「legal jeopardy」。 (→double jeopardy)
