maritagium 〈拉〉(古) (1)嫁资；嫁妆；陪嫁土地 指结婚时由女方父母或其他亲属给予妻子或夫妻双方的赠与财产，亦可专指结婚赠与的土地。这是英格兰在中世纪早期广为承认的一种习惯。赠与人将土地连同女儿送与受赠人，并在第三个继承人(即受赠人的后代)出生后才开始承担封建役务，因为此时家庭已经建立并有能力履行封建役务。在第三个继承人出生前，作为嫁资的土地不得转让，如果没有后嗣的，则该土地复归赠与人及其继承人。后该种赠与采契据形式，并将后代限于某些特定顺位的继承人。它是限定继承地产〔fee tail〕或限嗣继承地产〔entail〕的前身。 (→dos) (2)婚姻监护权 指领主对未成年被监护人婚姻进行安排与处置的权力。
